Father's Day

Sometimes it can be a tough one. How is Father's Day celebrated when you have lost a dad? or son? Or how about if you don't have a relationship with your dad? or child?

One of my favorite old time TV Westerns is The Rifleman. I was watching a couple of them the other day. Some might call them corny but I look at things that maybe others just don't try to see. I see the beautiful land of New Mexico. I see a simpler way of life. I see values not seen in many modern day shows. But most of all I see the relationship of Lucas with his son Mark.

I'd give up many things in my life to have what they had. There are many episodes that end with me wiping a tear from my eyes.

So what do you do with Father's Day? You read the Word that says, "Have we not all one Father ? Did not one God create us?" (Malachi 2:10) God, the creator of heaven and earth also created you. And like a loving Father, He bottles all your tears. (Psalm 56)

Its His gift to you, who may struggle this weekend!

In Christ,
Pastor John
